What’s Up Doc (1972)
Peter Bogdanovich’s screwball comedy (the old name for “romantic comedy”) is seldom mentioned in cinematic circles. However, the wacky and playful nature of the film as well as the romantic chemistry between Barbara Streisand and Ryan O’Neal is great.
You know what? Screw it, I’m sick of waxing poetic about movies no one will ever see anyhow. This film is probably older than your parents by now and who gives a shit about Streisand or Ryan O’Neal anyway? If you want my two cents, I think Babs is sexy and funny in this film and despite only seeing her in like 2 other movies, I want to see more of her older stuff, especially the comedies. O’Neal is annoying and nebbish, which makes sense for this type of screwball comedy. And the late, great Madeline Kahn made her screen debut in this and well, she’s great but not Mel Brook’s great. I recently saw this with the wife a few weeks ago and found it charming to say the least.
But I’m here to show you all a chase scene and here it is:
Those cars have hella good shocks.

I really like Hello, Dolly! And… Um… Yeah, I’m out. I’ve seen no other Streisand movies. 🙂
