True or False Trivia Week: Night of the Living Dead

One of the fascinating pieces of trivia below is true*, the other is false. Do YOU know which is which?

Night of the Living Dead (1968)

1) When the zombies are eating the bodies in the burnt-out truck they were actually eating roast ham covered in chocolate sauce. The filmmakers joked that it was so nausea inducing that it was almost a waste of time putting the makeup on the zombies, as they ended up looking pale and sick anyway.

2) George Romero came up with the idea for his groundbreaking film after a weekend stay with his then-girlfriend at a secluded cottage in the Poconos. After throwing several large bricks of low-grade marijuana into the fireplace, the smell not only gave Romero a headache high but attracted a horde of raccoons. Believing they were there to steal his weed and his woman, Romero spent all night fortifying the cottage’s windows with weed bricks and fighting off wave after wave of night bandits with his grandpappy’s hunting rifle. When the bullets ran out, he started beating the raccoons with an axe that he set ablaze. Despite killing more than 80 of the woodland critters, his efforts were in vain, as they eventually broke in and carried off the girl into the night, never to be seen again, while Romero hid in the basement with as much grass as he could carry. He emerged 19 days later, a shell of a person but with a hell of a movie idea.
