1) Courtney Love plays stripper Althea Flynt in this film. Before she was famous, Love was a stripper in real life too. 

2) Woody Harrleson got so “into character” as Hustler publisher Larry Flynt that he secretly started a small pornographic mens’ magazine. He would drug various women including the cast and crew and pose them and photograph them for the publication. Whether this magazine was for his own collection or if he was planning on publishing it to the public is unknown. When someone on the set found out about the lewd photographs, director Milos Forman was so enraged. Not at what his star actor was doing, but that he didn’t think of it himself. When the female cast members and crew threatened legal action against Harrelson, Forman and producers including Oliver Stone fired the women and with some crafty blackmail, silenced them and re-cast them. What’s most baffling is that the only woman to stay on was Courtney Love who, either had no clue to what was going on because she was so strung up on drugs or that she had zero issue with Harrelson’s secret magazine.
