1) In the movie Max didn’t know much about his dad, in real life Francis Capra also didn’t know much about his own dad.

2) Originally called “Slam Dunk Genie,” the title was changed after it was found that Shaquille O’Neal didn’t know how to dunk a basketball. In fact, his basketball skills were so limited that he repeatedly lost one-on-one games to his costar, 12-year-old Francis Capra. When director Paul Michael Glaser (who played Starsky on Starsky and Hutch) questioned Shaq about how he was able to fake playing basketball in the NBA so effectively, Shaq choked him to unconscious and ate his kneecaps for power.
