Spinal Tap: The Final Tour
The Scene(s): This 20-minute short was made to secure funding for the feature-length version of This Is Spinal Tap, which is without question considered one of the greatest comedies of all time by anyone who doesn’t eat pickled boar testicles as their primary food source. I just recently discovered this and found it really interesting to see bits from a movie I watched at least once a week as a teenager in a different, rawer form (but still funny). Of note, the keyboardist Viv is a different actor, a super young Rebecca De Mornay is in it (I thought she was Traci Lords at first), and everyone’s hair doesn’t look like a cheap wig, just yours.

Wow. I never knew about this. Why is this not on the Special Edition DVD? Or is it and my mind is just warped from all the “substances” I used over the years?

I think it was on some edition at some point or something. Apparently there’s a 4-hour version of Spinal Tap floating around somewhere. Not sure why it was never released. And yes, your mind is as warped as your penis.

I’ve never tried pickled boar testicles- I would guess I would not like them enough to make them a staple in my diet…but you never know—Anyway—Love Spinal Tap and all it stands for !

I’ve only ever had chicken fried boar testicles. I was offered pickled beaver penis once, but it sounded too hermaphrodite for my pallet.

Haha! Beaver is way too underused.

Awesome! I’m going to show how brainless I am and admit I love all the songs, bought the album when I was a teen and played it as if it were any other band that was out at the time. Even learned to play Tonight We’re Gonna Rock It! on guitar 😀

Yeah I used to listen to the soundtrack all the time and a friend and I referred to the album as Smell the Glove. I even listened to Break Like the Wind continuously.
