R.O.T.O.R. (1989)
The Scene: Introducing… ROTOR!
Why This Scene Is Special: R.O.T.O.R. is a supremely cheesy movie that you probably recognize from seeing its awesome VHS cover but never actually rented (which looks very suspiciously almost exactly like the Mad Max poster…). It’s basically a knockoff of Terminator and RoboCop and far worse than any robot could have calculated. But it does have one shining saving grace: the introduction of our friend R.O.T.O.R., who is presented as a high-tech robot skeleton before he’s covered in flesh and mustache fur. This clip was meant to show off R.O.T.O.R. to a concerned group of investors, I think, but instead of showing R.O.T.O.R.’s fighting prowess, technical capabilities or anything of real value, he just kind of dances. And it’s one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen in my life. I took my sweet time to cut out the pointless humans that were dispersed throughout this clip to bring you nothing but R.O.T.O.R.’s sweetest robot dance moves to a fitting soundtrack.
This little guy is so endearing to us that we’ve decided to hire him full time to bring you a new column called Today’s Headlines, in which R.O.T.O.R. himself will bring to our readers the very latest in movie news, from R.O.T.O.R.’s point of view. We hope you enjoy it, but if you don’t, R.O.T.O.R. will hunt you down no matter where you live (we can’t control that, sorry).

I love him!! AND he has a nice coccyx!!!

I reviewed this one a few months a go. It’s pretty funny and a real make it up as we go kind of films.

Haha yeah it seemed like the actors were told what to do and say just a few seconds before each take.
