Rocky (1976)

The Scene: Rocky absolutely will not stop until you are dead, Creed.

Why I Love This Scene: This has to be one of my top five favorite movie moments of all time, specifically where Rocky gets up after being knocked down, and Apollo turns around from his victory dance to see that Rocky has gotten up and is ready to go, yet again. The look on Apollo’s face and the way he briefly drops his head in disbelief never fails to give me the chills (at 1:43, “Apollo can’t believe it!”). It just so perfectly conveys how Apollo thought this chump was going to be a cake walk, but Rocky just isn’t going to give up. Fortunately for Apollo, he rightfully ends up winning, since he basically beat the living hell out of Rocky the entire fight. And he should’ve won the rematch if not for a few lucky punches. Apollo was a much better fighter than Rocky in every conceivable way. In real life, there absolutely would have been a third and deciding fight, and Apollo probably would have won. Then he would have been the one with the awesome Happy Birthday robot in Apollo IV.
