True or False Trivia: Stand By Me

One of the fascinating pieces of trivia below is true*, the other is false. Do YOU know which is which?

Stand By Me (1986)

1) When they were filming the scene where Gordie and Vern are about to be run over by the train, Wil Wheaton and Jerry O’Connell did not look scared enough; In frustration Rob Reiner yelled at them to the point where they started crying and that’s when they were able to film the scene.

2) The dead body of Ray Brower was not an actor nor a “stunt-body” but in fact a real corpse of a dead teenager. Director Rob Reiner was adamant about the authenticity of the dead body that he demanded an intern to make a trail of treats like candy (Hershey Kisses, Pixie Sticks, Charleston Chews, etc.) leading to the scene of the railroad tracks. It halted production for 14 weeks but finally some hapless deaf boy fell for the candy trap and was struck by a freight train as he ate his treats on the tracks, just like Reiner had planned.
