True or False Trivia: Seabiscuit

One of the fascinating pieces of trivia below is true*, the other is false. Do YOU know which is which?

Seabiscuit (2003)

1) While the movie describes War Admiral as being a huge horse close to 18 hands tall, the real-life War Admiral was well known for being one of the smallest sons of Man o’ War. War Admiral was actually the same size as Seabiscuit, which was approximately 15 hands tall.

2) In an attempt to understand the film’s setting of Depression-era horse racing, Tobey Maguire purchased a horse farm and lived on it for about a year, racing the horses against invisible opponents and devouring them raw if they lost a race, as he mistakenly believed occurred during the Great Depression. When word about what he was doing spread to the community, the locals dubbed him O Demónio Carniceiro do Cavalo. They say that his formless spirit still roams the plains in a never-ending hunger lust for the souls of the horses that he believed wronged him.

  1. Obviously answer two is The Truth. As a dead person, I commune with other dead people and sometimes we get bored and go the dead horse races.
