One of the fascinating pieces of trivia below is true*, the other is false. Do YOU know which is which?
Cast Away (2000)
1) To make himself look like an average out of shape middle aged man Tom Hanks didn’t exercise and allowed himself to grow pudgy. Production was then halted for a year so he could lose fifty pounds and grow out his hair for his time spent on the deserted island. During this hiatus, Robert Zemeckis used the same crew to film What Lies Beneath.
2) Tom Hanks was violently insistent on set that he be allowed to defecate into opened coconuts and bury them 9 feet deep in the sand so that, “The godd*mned tree apes won’t be able to claim their sweet prize.” He also demanded that every bowel movement be filmed, then he would rip the film out of the camera and slowly swallow it frame by frame, adding to the next bowel movement, which Hanks called, “The agonizing straight line of life.” After shooting wrapped, this film and fecal combo was dug up, spliced together, and presented as the movie “Swept Away.”

I so badly want the second option to be true.

I liked Castaway up on to the point “Wilson” showed up, then it starts to go down hill – it gets absolutely stupid once he makes it back to America…Tom and Helen Hunt have zero chemistry…and the circumstance is just out of her range. And his too.

I guess it was either give Tom Hanks and object to talk to or do a voice over, which they probably should have done. And also not skip 4 years, and having him seeing the cargo ship be the final shot.
