One of the fascinating pieces of trivia below is true*, the other is false. Do YOU know which is which?
Pacific Rim (2013)
1) The computer is voiced by Ellen McLain who also voiced GLaDOS, the AI from Portal and Portal 2. This is in fact a cameo by GLaDOS, as Guillermo del Toro was such a fan of the games that he approached the game’s developers, Valve, who approved. Del Toro said in an interview for the Toronto Sun: “”I wanted very much to have her, because I’m a big Portal fan. But just as a wink. She’s not cake-obsessed. She’s not out to destroy humanity.” He further explained: “Look, there’s no A.I. I’d rather have than GlaDOS, but McLain’s voice in the movie, due in theaters July 12, has been modulated a bit to be less similar to the distinctive tone of Portal’s unforgettable antagonist. The filter we’re using is slightly less GLaDOS. Slightly. The one in the trailer I wanted to be full-on GlaDOS.”
2) Guillermo del Toro got the idea for this movie during the filming of Hellboy II when Ron Perlman ate a bad peach, stripped fully nude and tried to murder del Toro by hiding in del Toro’s bathtub until del Toro came into the bathroom to take a dump. Perlman rose from the tub with razor blades duct-taped to his hands and lunged at del Toro, who hit the panic button on his toilet seat and flushed himself through his escape pipe and into his trophy room. Blinded by peach fury, Perlman stomped a hole in the floor so he could reach the trophy room and finish del Toro off. Fortunately, by that time del Toro had wisely changed into his prized robot suit from RoboCop 3 and a fierce battle ensued through del Toro’s movie memorabilia. The fight ended when del Toro decapitated Perlman with Inigo Montoya’s sword from The Princess Bride. While they managed to sew Perlman’s mangled head back on and finish filming Hellboy II, Elizabeth Shue’s vest from Back to the Future Part II was ruined beyond repair.

The first scenario seems a bit far-fetched; so I’m going with the second scenario as the actual account.
