Mike Starr
Notable Roles: Funny Farm, Goodfellas, Dumb & Dumber, Clockers, Miller’s Crossing, The Bodyguard
Typical Roles: Cops, Henchman/Mob thugs, Public Servants, Bartenders
Example of a NON-Typecasted role: Played Pooter-the-Clown in Uncle Buck
Why He’s Great: Big, burly, tough-looking, has played various henchmen and mobster type roles with aplomb. His henchman role in Dumb in Dumber is hysterical when he dies from an extreme ulcer while “drugged” with atomic peppers.
Trivia: He worked as a bouncer and bartender before landing a small part in Cruising (1980).
Career Quote: “I get a lot of calls for New York-oriented things, mob parts, cop roles. I think they stereotype me by size; that’s a bit of a pitfall. Some people bring me in for the big gentle guy or these killers. It’s hard to figure out what they think of me.”

And now, a special message from the man himself, Mike Starr!

I’ve been reading it since I was a boy, and this article featuring me marks their 200th post. Thad and Bryant have worked very hard over these 200 posts to make us all laugh, think and read. On behalf of Fart Pickle to Phone Studio we sincerely thank you all for your support. I’m to be paid in cash…
