Shake The Scene: Back to the Future Part III

Back to the Future Part III (1990)

The Scene: The very last scene, when Doc comes back in his Time Train with his family to say goodbye to Marty.

Why We Love This Scene: Obviously, it’s the end of the greatest movie trilogy of all time (not debatable), it’s an emotional farewell to these beloved characters, and the Time Train is totally awesome, but what really makes this stand out is the part where Doc and Clara’s youngest son, Verne, subtly beckons to someone off-camera and points to his wiener in one smooth motion. To this day, no one knows why he did it, or how no one in the editing room caught it. In my opinion, it seems like he really has to pee, and he’s trying to signal his mom or whoever was there with him on the set that day that he was about to wet his shorts. Or maybe he was frightened and confused on what was happening down there at the sight of Elisabeth Shue. Unfortunately, the actor who played Verne pretty much disappeared, which may be for the best. But his legacy lives on because I do this to my wife all the time and it’s always hilarious.
