One of the fascinating pieces of trivia below is true*, the other is false. Do YOU know which is which?
Hair (1979)
1) George Lucas was offered the chance to direct this movie in the early 1970s, but turned it down because he was developing American Graffiti.
2) Three actors were finalists for the role of head hippie Berger, and director Milos Forman found it impossible to make a decision on which one should be cast, so he held a competition where the man who ate the most human hair in five minutes would win the role. Robert Shaw actually won the competition by eating 9 pounds of hair, but died days later from severe intestinal blockage. By default, Treat Williams, who came in second place in the contest with 7.5 pounds of hair eaten, stepped into the role. The third-place contestant, Carl Weathers, was so disappointed that he ate 6 pounds of hair for nothing that it affected his performance in Rocky II to the point that he lost the ending fight.
